Summary, etc.	En los últimos años, se ha dado un impulso sustancial a los trabajos relacionados con las carreteras, pero no se cuenta con metodologías propias que se adecúen a la variedad de condiciones que presenta el territorio nacional. Por ello, se ha aplicado metodologías foráneas que suplen el desconocimiento de los especialistas. Los temas abordados responden al sílabo del curso que se imparte en la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil (UNI). Tiene tres objetivos fundamentales: primero, presentar los conceptos básicos y principios fundamentales de mecánica de suelos; segundo, integrar principios modernos de aprendizaje, enseñando técnicas y ayudas de aprendizaje que asistan al estudiante en la comprensión del tema; y tercero, proveer un sólido conocimiento que motive al estudiante en el aprendizaje de la ingeniería geotécnica vial.
